Is CBD Addictive, Unsafe or Illegal?

Before we talk about all of the benefits of CBD oil, in our next post, let's ask the most common questions first. What is the downside of CBD? Well see if there are any?

  Is CBD oil additive?

 Is CBD oil Toxic?

Is it illegal?

Why have I never heard of CBD oil before?

Is CBD, Cannabidiol, oil additive?

No, CBD is not additive. CBD is extracted and separated from specific varieties of cannabis, often known as hemp. Chemically, CBD is one of 85 chemical substances known as cannabinoids, which are all found in the cannabis plant. There is zero evidence anywhere that CBD is addictive. This is because CBD does not act on any receptors in the brain that would produce addiction.

Even Marijuana is not addictive

One long term study about the use of Marijuana is the  Ganja in Jamaica: A Medical Anthropological Study of Chronic Marijuana Use, pub - Journal of the American Medical Association in 1975, wrote about NO CONCERNS with addiction, even after patients who had used cannabis for decades had stopped. The 1980 study Cannabis in Costa Rica: A Study in Chronic Marijuana Use backed this up.  Now, obviously Fleet and Flower is not encouraging an illegal act to use marijuana (as it has studied and the use of marijuana may exacerbate mental health conditions that are dormant so it is a substance not to be messed with, but the first study on addiction helps to clear up  that they did not find any addictive potential even in the presence of THC along with the CBD! So, CBD is not addictive.

Is CBD oil Toxic?

No, it is natural and even organic. The manufacturers, Hempture, meet all legal requirement to consume, sell, and possess both here in Ireland and in many other EU countries. Hemp oil is a dietary ingredient that is permitted for use in or as a dietary supplement. Industrial hemp products, like our hemp oils, that have been grown in Ireland or EU imported through the proper means are exempt from marihuana and THC laws in EU Schedule.

Is CBD oil legal?

Yup! It's the THC in cannabis that is the drug, but with CBD oil it is just that; CBD oil and THC has been extracted.

Depending on the manufacturer's batch their CBD oil has none or less than the 0.2% THC or less to meet legal restrictions in Ireland, and the EU.

Here is some EU law:

The manufacturer, Hempture abides by Irish and EU law. Regulation (EC) 1672/2000 states that cannabis sativa plants containing 0.2% tetrahydrocannabinol or less can be approved for cultivation as hemp.

Do I need to move to Ireland to get CBD oil? Where do you ship your CBD oil?

Hempture CBD is formulated from Hemp that is grown under strict licence from the relevant government department so that it is legal to be sold worldwide.

Why have I never heard of CBD oil before?

God, I actually don't know. I had heard of it in a conspiracy sort of way and how amazing and healing it was and all the laws against it. It was only when I saw The Happy Pear at some veggie festival on SnapChat and they were talking about CBD that was made in Ireland. I googled it and there it was...with so many benefits. I bought it as my first item for Fleet and Flower (phase two!) as it is healing for the body and mind, is organic, and has spiritual aspects.
