PETA's Beauty Without Bunnies Program and STOP being shady
Fleet and Flower is listed here on PETA's Beauty Without Bunnies program.
I really admire the work that Peta does.
And they get it. They put animal welfare before profit because you don't have to pay to be put on their list. You just have to pay to use their licenced logo and to advertise your product with their logo. It's a small enough fee and one that Fleet and Flower will be paying for.
But I have to hit certain targets before I can put more money into the business. I still don't have an actual written business plan but I've been planning this for a long time so I know that hymn music I need to sing along with to stay on track.
Misleading your customers
It just really bothers me when people try to sell so hard. Like, false advertising but yet it's legal. I see people saying stuff like....."buy this elixir... made from organic oak and push-up bras." And then you suss out the business and see that only the oak is organic and the push-up bra is not organic but it was how they said it. (You know I must ask one of my old book blogger buddies about the semantics of that sentence 'cause I think the organic is actually inferring that the push-up bra is also organic, which would be illegal. All I know, that in Europe everything here has to be by the book. Chemists. Safety tests. Insurance. Licence. Health Board. EU leg. So, I'd be careful about how I describe a product.)
UGH! So fucking shady.
So, I have to spend all my time repeating. Fleet + Flower's perfume oil is ALL organic and vegan and cruelty-free.
- Organic carrier oil.
- Organic essential oils.
- ALL fucking organic.
Own your business decisions.
Do y'know? You made a business decision not to be all organic, or not to be vegan; now own it. People are not that stupid and most of us have studied business at some stage and will know what you are up to. And if they don't know what you are up to...then that's cool; 'cause my customers are educated and know what's up.
Like, you can't be all things to all people.
Just do you. You do you. I buy stuff that's not organic. I only really care about cosmetics being vegan and cruelty-free. A cosmetic being organic is just a bonus. (like, yeah it helps the environment, is sustainable...but animals...)
I've been binge watching Dear White People and am feeling woke AF. And a tad hyper, cause life is only great!
